Make a list of things you need to pack. Well in advance, you need to craft a clear list of everything that you are going to need. Having a list will keep you organized and clutter-free, even if you don’t actually pack until the last minute.

Be sure to pre-plan your trip if an airport is involved in your travels. Airports are often located near large cities, and reaching them during peak traffic times of the day can take much longer then you might expect. Pack your suitcase the night before. Before your travel day, make sure all of your preparations are taken care of. You want to do everything possible to avoid arriving late for your flight.

Before packing, make a list. Well in advance, you need to craft a clear list of everything that you are going to need. If you are delayed in beginning your packing, having a comprehensive list will make the task quicker, easier, and with less clutter.

You don’t save much space using travel size toiletries and when you run out, the local stores often charge more for products that you need to replace. Try rolling shirts instead of folding them to save room and lessen the chance of wrinkles. You can have more space in your bags than you thought if you pack properly.

Purchase tickets on the Internet in advance and print them at home when you have a specific destination, like a theme park, in mind. This is more than worth the huge lines that you will avoid. Not only that, you may be able to skip the lines for entry as well.

When packing for your next trip, be sure to bring clothespins. A couple of clothespins can be very handy when traveling.

Prior to flying, make a quick trip to the gym. Long airplane trips can be tiring to your body. Remaining in a stationary position can cause stiff muscles and cramps. To eliminate back and leg pain, stretch and do a light workout to prepare for your flight.

Make sure your passports are up-to-date by checking the expiration date. Some countries have certain rules about the expiration. Most countries will not permit you to enter with an expired passport if it is within a given time frame. Typically if your passport is due to expire in 3-6 months you will be denied visitation. However, this time frame can extend to 8-12 months.

Educate your family by traveling. You should not fear traveling if you take the right precautions. It will be a great opportunity for your children to see how different parts of the world operate. Time abroad is one of the best ways to learn to tolerate and understand other cultures.

As stated initially in this guide, prospective travelers may need to make a lot of decisions, and some find this to be intimidating. However, with the right information and some good advice, you can plan a great trip with less stress. Make sure you apply these tips for your next vacation.

I love to travel, though I only have an chance to go to another country or continent once or twice a year. What about you other wanderlust travelers? What’s your favorite vacation spot? My choice for in the U.S. is Alaska, and for outside the U.S. possibly the Scottish Highlands or Thailand.
It’s so hard to choose isn’t it!
CF it would have been appreicated if you’d stuck to the question, I’m not interested in the places you don’t like as I’m not trying to provide a forum for people with low self-esteem issues that try to lash out on others. BTW You’re missing out on many beautiful places not visiting the U.S.A.

I guess I’m wondering what a good ratio is for driving time vs stopping somewhere… It seems like just driving all the time isn’t all that enjoyable.

Here’s a possible route… Start in San Francisco, drive up the coast to Vancouver, then to Yellowstone, then down to Vegas, then back to San Francisco.

Should I plan a couple of days to stay at each main destination and leave a day open between each one? How do I deal with hotel reservations if I want to have some flexibility?

I’m considering purchasing a vehicle, but I’d like to know what are some good things about it aside from faster travel.

    Anything?
What other reasons did you purchase your vehicles for aside from commuting purposes?

What is so fun about cars?
